Acts 6-7

The rejection by the Jerusalem Jews of Christ by executing Stephen.

Signs and Wonders: Stephen’s message verified by signs and wonders. (6:8).

Response: ‘Freedmen’ object to Stephen’s message of the gospel and bring false witnesses (6:9-15).

Explanation: Stephen points out that their rejection of Jesus as Messiah is similar to their fathers, rejecting Abraham (in Joseph), and rejecting Moses. (7:1-53).

Response: Stephen is stoned, as a further rejection of Christ. (7:54-60).
