Genesis 4
Now that the Hero has declared His philosophy, that philosophy will guide events through the story until He has victory over the antagonist. His promise is the Seed that will destroy the antagonist, his followers, the old creation, and finally, bring in a new creation over which He will rule. This is the point of the story.
There is no other. Note that this is exactly how story works. The narrative follows the philosophy of the Hero as the Hero attempts to bring about resolution that has been destroyed by the introduction of the conflict. Thus events subsequent to the declaration of the Hero must be assessed only by that philosophy. That is the context of story. They are not to be interpreted as separate, isolated stories of moral or ethical lessons.
